Deborah's House: interior and exterior

Shield's Home

The palm!

It started as a challenge. Remy took it on as an exercise for his mind and his talents. His creativity prevails. His patience produces art. His hands make it happen. The palm tree designed with tumbled marble inset into black porcelain is fabulous.

Working and Playing

Remy hard at work, takes a break with Remy Chiquito and friends to play the Wii. Conga drumming is also a delightful distraction. But don't worry, tile installation is always first priority. Why not have a great time while you're at it?

Kiker addition

Kikers built an addition and asked Remy to use the same tile as before, but with new designs for each room. The living room has a "brick pattern" which Remy created by cutting the 18x18 tiles in half. He also made a border with a complimentary tile inset with a diamond accent. We love it!

The first floor of the home now has 2100sf of the same tile, but each room is unique and has its own personality thanks to the creativity of this fantastic tile installer.

The bathroom is Remy's creation. He's using chiseled travertino cut in an irregular "stone"pattern with glass tile accents.

Show Home: Ocala Golf and Equistrian Club

Remy finds opportunities to be creative wherever he goes. Notice the detail in the master bath, with Mondrian listelo, angled tiles, and a bench finished to perfection.

The custom kitchen back splash mirrors the angles of the oven hood. The result is fantastic.

Ice Saw

It's winter in Florida. The low was 18 degrees F last night. When Remy arrived at the building site this morning, his ice saw greeted him. There were lizards, frogs, and snakes ice skating on the surface.

A Feast

Remy is the featured chef at his friend's Super Bowl party. He cooks a pig, Cuban-style. After marinading it overnight, he starts it cooking over wood coals in the early morning, to be ready for afternoon feasting. The bones were sucked clean. And the fresh ceviche? Mmmmmm. Perhaps when he's ready for a second career, he'll take up the culinary arts.

Wood-Tiles-n-Stone

After tearing out carpet, Remy sets to work. He creates a unique design using wood, tile, and stone. When it is completed, the center diamond doubles as an original design and a checkers game board. Who else could achieve such graceful play?

Terracotta tiles take on a whole new look with contrasting grout lines. Remy said with a knowing grin, "You won't believe your eyes when you see this tile with white grout." Breathless! He's right.

BBQ

Remy knows the best little BBQ place in Micanopy on SR-441. Ask him about it next time you see him. Ymmmm.....

Planning a Masterpiece

The planning process is exciting to witness. When Remy starts to get an idea, he doesn't quit until he achieves perfection.

Remy's daughter's house

Remy has remodeled and renovated his daughter's house extensively, including tile, stone, and woodwork. The pictures speak for themselves.
