Jan's Home in progress

Jan selected a beautiful porcelain-travertine tile for use throughout the house, with Remy-accents everywhere! This large-scale renovation project began with tearing out tiles improperly installed years before. Once the tiles and thin set were chiseled away, and the surface prepared with the appropriate underlay, the creative process commences. The hallway receives a star to surprise visitors as they round the corner.

The guest bedroom is inlaid with a marble accent tile, and the bath tiles are cut in a "honeycomb" pattern.

And now for the pièce de résistance, a fabulous entry mosaic modeled after a design from an historical New Orleans home. Remy has been saving it for just the right house, for just the right place, and here it is gracing the entryway.

The deep thresholds
between rooms
require special
consideration. After pondering,
Remy designs a herringbone
pattern--it is picture perfect.

Just for fun, Remy offers to adorn the fireplace with some drop-dead gorgeous red onyx tiles he had on hand.

This is a man who deserves to smile. Once again, his customers become friends and everyone is overjoyed at the result of Remy's labors. Satisfaction!
